Hall of Fame for Fathers
The Family Hall of Fame
|
Father’s Hall of Fame™ got its start when a father of five children, Attorney William Irwin, felt it was time the world had a place to honor, celebrate and remember fathers. Irwin’s intention from the start, in October 1987, was to make sure fathers had an opportunity to be inducted into a shrine that honors fathers and families. Father’s Hall of Fame™ originally housed its charter membership rolls in a one room schoolhouse leased from Mrs. Margaret E. Kennedy of Coolsprings Township in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The 120 year old building was closed as a center of learning in 1940 but reopened as the museum center for Father’s Hall of Fame™ in 1992. The museum was open for tours from mid-May through mid-October. Visitors found a father inductee listed among our Honor Rolls and on display in a historically restored classroom. We now offered a worldwide internet version of a “Who’s Who” of fathers for all to see. A visitor can review a father’s family, birthday, occupation, military history, honors, education, ancestry and other information by written request. We currently publish on the web a father’s name, city, state and zip code, so they are easily identified by family members.
